Annual Meet & Greet is the opportunity to donate to the

Thanks to everyone from the community and from out of town who attended and supported this event. The event was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Benton Hall which is located at 1806 Walnut Street in Higginsville, Missouri.We served catfish, pulled pork, cheeseburgers, potato salad, slaw, and dessert. We had a delicious drink that’s been finally called the Saint James AME Church friendship tea.

There was also a raffle and a brief update about the cemetery fencing project.  A coinciding Facebook fundraiser is also occurring till the end of October 2025.

The cemetery board volunteers are Alice & Earl Elmore,  Rev. Glenn Elmore, Mrs.Minnie Elmore, Donald Elmore, Micheal Elmore, Arron Haynes, Rowan Haynes, and Linda Smith.

Joshua Johnson - Battin' The Boogie

Born in Higginsville, MO to Richard and Catherine Johnson in 1904 and died on February 22, 1971 at the Downtown Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Johnson is buried at the Mount Muncie Cemetery on Shelby Road in Higginsville, MO.

Mount Muncie Cemetery Announces Its Memorial Day Activities: Volunteers Needed!

 

The Mount Muncie Cemetery Committee will have its Annual Meet and Greet. The activity will be from Saturday, May 28, 2022 – Monday, May 30, 2022 from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteers are needed to work on the Meet and Greet days and times, to place flags on the veterans' grave sites on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 4 pm and removal on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 6 pm.  

The cemetery is located at 10496 Shelby Rd, Higginsville, MO  64037.
